This week marks the 10th anniversary of the passing of Mr. Butch, a street artist who was a mainstay of both Kenmore Square and Allston since the 70s. He was an infamous figure in the Boston music community, whether he was hanging in front of the Rat or performing in public spaces.

A few weeks ago our friend, who Butch called “Mr Hooker,” came to us with a cassette labeled “The Mr. Butch Show.”

This is, mostly, unfiltered Mr Butch, recording from wherever he might find himself that minute. He doesn't hold back from cussing or from conversation.

We are making most of this tape streamable. In order to download and unlock the rest, we're asking for donations which will be sent to Youth on Fire, a non-profit organization based in Harvard Square that helps provide support and shelter for at-risk LGBTQ+ youth.

We pledge that every penny sent to us will be sent Youth on Fire.

Among other things, donations contribute towards staffing their drop-in center and providing MBTA CharlieCards/fare to help young adults get to medical appointments.
